It was back to the classroom for Buzzword recently, as Chichester Free School tasked us with shooting some exciting new images for their website, marketing and social media collateral.

We’ve been working with the School since 2012 – at a time before there were any teachers, or any students …in fact before there was an actual school building. At a time when their website (made up of a bunch of stock images) was the only real face of the school.

CFS welcomed their first-ever pupils in September 2013, and since then have thrived and grown off the scale …both in pupil numbers and in the size of the building itself. Recently being ranked ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the School wanted us to capture the essence of this within fresh new images for all of their visual communications.

Armed with a list of classrooms, lessons and year-groups, our Creative Director Janice and Photographer Peter set to work. Starting with some budding ukulele players in Music, they roved around the school taking striking images during various lessons …from Maths to PE, Science to Product Design and, much to Janice’s approval, Art.

It struck us that despite having to continue operating from their temporary location, there was very much an established-school feel to the place. The kids were great; many of them young superstars – and we managed to get the whole shoot wrapped up in one day.

Pure class.
