Graduate Fashion Week is renowned for showcasing the best graduate fashion design talent in the UK, and is recognised for launching the careers of some of the biggest names in fashion, including Stella McCartney and Julien McDonald.

A charity organisation, GFW was founded in 1991 by designer and self-professed ‘dapper gent’ Jeff Banks CBE, Vanessa Denza MBE and John Walford. Victoria Beckham is one of the charity’s patrons.

Each June this prestigious event attracts around 30,000 guests, and features 22 catwalk shows, exhibitions from over 40 universities and workshops featuring leading names from the fashion industry. This year’s proved better than ever as Graduate Fashion Week celebrated 25 years.

Buzzword were delighted to work in partnership with GFW, offering consultancy on the design and build of their dynamic website. Using Squarespace, a content management system (CMS) which is integrated with a website builder, blogging platform and hosting service, our Web Developer Mark advised them before setting them up and running, allowing them to host and maintain their own websites and blogs.

The week culminated in a prestigious Gala Award Show, and our MD Adam, together with Ash Nute of Chichester-based apparel design company Nutes Studio, enjoyed a sparkling evening of graduate fashion in East London’s old Truman Brewery. The ultimate Gold Award was presented to the talented Hazel Symons of De Montfort University.
