At last, it’s here! Our MD Adam’s big weekend has finally arrived and the London Marathon is now a matter of hours away!

Pavements have been pounded, carbs have been loaded …and alcohol has been abstained from. Kind of.

As emotions run high in the days leading up to the event, the good news is that Adam needn’t feel alone. Far from it. Because on Sunday 24 April 2016, history will be made as the one millionth London Marathon finisher will be crossing the world famous Finish Line on The Mall.

To mark this great milestone, the organisers have created the #oneinamillion campaign – a campaign to celebrate every runner who has completed the 26.2-mile challenge since the first race took place back in 1981.

After every event, the organisers have to make adjustments to the results and, while this process can go on for a long time, this year a cut-off date of Friday 6 May has been put in place in order to announce the name of the millionth finisher on Monday 9 May. The date is in our diary, and we will be checking the website every minute to find out who will be crowned #oneinamillion!

Adam will be running for a great charity – the Surrey Care Trust. You can keep track of Adam as he makes his way around the course, using the Virgin Money London Marathon live tracking webpage on the day (which will appear on their homepage). It’s easy to search by surname or running number …in Adam’s case, we would recommend the running number(!) 48856. Updates will appear as Adam crosses the timing points, which are at 5km intervals. You can follow the rest of the action via Twitter using the hashtag #oneinamillion.
